Day 2 - What I Learned Today

I'm pretty sure this is what you need to read a MARC number
Today I learned two new things.  I learned about Tumblebooks and I found out that MARC stands for MAchine Readable Cataloging. I'm still not sure what MARC does, but I understood Tumble Books right away.

I found Tumblebooks on the Richmond Public Library website.  When I showed them to my three and a half year old neighbour, she was hooked and so was I.  I've often wondered what would replace the listening centres of the past.  Tumblebooks seem to be the thing to fill the read-along void. I can see myself using this site with my E.S.L. students next year.  Even though they are high school age, I often get one or two brand new English speakers with almost zero English language and I have no idea what to do with them during silent reading.  Tumblebooks might be the answer.
